10. The Beast Approaches
A massive high precipitation supercell churns forward in the plains of western Minnesota on June 17th. This was my most successful chase day of the past year despite not seeing any tornadoes. Many of the HP storms were quite photogenic and cooperative, despite soaring past at about 45 knots.
This image was taken as the storm started screaming southeast towards me. I had just enough time to get out of the car, set up the camera on a tripod, and take a five image panorama of the beast before it was on top of me.
